Sonic X-treme, Super Mario 64 2, and Star Fox 2 are only a few of the shoulda-been-awesome games that were never released. Check the list of other killer-but-didn't games you never did see. Click here for the fulls tory.
Kotaku: The code powering the PS3's first modchip is now officially out there, meaning anyone with an internet connection and a USB microcontroller can get under their PS3's skin. Click here for the full story. 8/22/2010
Joystiq: Both Left 4 Dead titles will be getting a new DLC pack -- titled "The Sacrifice" -- in the future. Valve's Chet Faliszek announced as much on the latest episode of GameTrailers TV, detailing the DLC's story as an explanation of how the first L4D crew lost a member (during "The Passing") and saying that the content will work across both games. Owners of Left 4 Dead 2 will be able to play as the first game's fearsome foursome and even be able to choose which member of that crew will end up having his or her brains eaten by the horde. A new trailer for the game Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 has been released. In this video, Yoda is showing the young (evil?) Jedi some love. I'm hoping this game is better than the first. The trailer is quite awesome. Click here to see it.
I'm not usually one for the foul language. It's usually in bad taste and certainly not appropriate under any circumstances. However...sometimes...when used in the right context, it gets a certain point accross. Take a look at this video but be sure the kids are asleep. Click here if you dare. FYI, I only made it about 5 or 6 minutes in...
G4: The cast of X-Men: First Class continues to absorb and consume a good percentage of Hollywood's actors. The latest victim, if you will, is veteran actor Oliver Platt. According to Deadline, Platt has joined the cast to play a character who is described as a "non-mutant" called The Man in Black. (Holy Damon Lindelof, Batman!) No other details have emerged as to the scope of his role, but the fact that a respected actor of Platt's caliber has been cast is probably indicative of it being critical to the plot. Platt will join a cast lead by James McAvoy's Professor Xavier, Michael Fassbender's Magneto, Kevin Bacon's unnamed villain, and a myriad of others. In fact, just over the weekend, Jason Flemyng was also added to play the Nightcrawler-esque teleporting mutant, Azazel. Yup, it's getting a bit crowded in the Danger Room. GamePro: The first Mass Effect toy series included an even ratio of two ME2 characters to two ME1 characters and it looks like series 2 will break the pattern with three ME2 characters to one ME1 character. For now, get a load of Mordin and Garrus. Click here for the full article.
